Trish Murphy B.Soc.Sc., CQSW, M.A, M.Soc.Sc. (reg: FTAI, ICP EAP) is a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist, trainer and consultant working in private practice, business and academic fields. She offers education and training in many areas including life/work skills, management development, mental health and relationships both in the workplace and without.
Trish has been working in the area of Sexuality since 1984. Her experience during this has bridged many sectors including individual & couple work; group facilitation and training in various sectors.
For 10 years she worked as the senior tutor with the Irish Family Planning Association – running training courses for a variety of participants – teachers, social & youth workers, doctors etc.
She has been a member of SDIB (Sexual Dysfunction Information Bureau) for the past 12 years. This group of urologists, doctors and psychotherapists seek to promote information and good practice in the area of sexual dysfunction in Ireland. She is also part of a newly established advisory board on premature ejaculation.
She currently works in third level colleges as an occasional lecturer and a counsellor – working individually on sexual and relational issues and running training and awareness courses. She has further qualifications in Mediation & Conflict Resolution and is equally comfortable working with groups or individuals.
She has in excess of a decade of experience in training, lecturing & teaching.
Currently, Trish works in Trinity College.
Trish has a weekly column in ‘The Irish Times’, is the resident psychotherapist/agony aunt on the ‘Pat Kenny Show’ on Newstalk.
Trish lives with 1,000 college students in a residence in Dublin and has developed great survival skills.
